The unique technique(jakuretsu technique)that weaves together time and materials creates a whole new world. Tradition and innovation intersect, and the cracks, grains, and scorches come to life in the pottery not by chance, but by desigh. Icreate shapes without being bound by conventional wisdom, and give them new textures and expressions. I want my work to resonate with the viewer’s sensibilities and offer a new perspective. This is the one and only creation that was born from that.
KAGE-TSUKIーThe Shadowed Moon
清酒が磨き上げられた器を求めるように にごり酒は 古の記憶を纏う器を必要としている
Just as sake requires polished vessels, nigori sake requires that evoke ancient memores.

It is not perfection, but rather the imperfection that hold the essence
The joy of going to an izakaya is being able to find tableware that is a piece of art. I believe that to enjoy cold sake, you need special tableware that is suitable for it. The same is true when drinking at home; the tableware enriches the moment. I’m sure that if foreigners see cold sake poured into a unique and beautiful sake cup, their feelings towards sake will deepen even more.
Beauty quietly dwells in decaying earth
寂土(Jakudo)焔土漆器 プレート皿
Clouded like forgotten time, this guinomi waits for the touch of nigori sake. The cracks upon its surface breathe the silence of centuries, a quiet song of wabi-sabi etched in clay. When the cloudy sake fills this vessel, the present and the distant past blur together, and beauty is found in the ancient haze of imperfection.
Strength in the transience. Serenity and poetry in the torn earth.
ZRAK is a brand of pottery and art pieces made using the Jakuretsu technique, which breathes modern life into the Japanese aesthetic of “wabi-sabi.” By exploring the unique expression method of “en-do lacquerware,” which is neither pottery nor lacquerware, the brand creates unique pieces. I have been fascinated by the beauty of cracks for many years. I feel the beauty of the passage of time and impermanence in the cracks and dry earth patterns created by nature. The work contains “traces of time, a quiet presence, and space to stimulate the viewer’s imagination.” The Jakuretsu technique involves stacking layers to create cracks, examining the boundary between chance and necessity. The unique materials and manufacturing process create a look that is supple and ephemeral, yet has a timeless dignity. The name en-do lacquerware symbolizes the warm and profound feel that is created by the texture of the earth and the depth of the lacquer. These vessels are not just for use, but are meant to be looked at, touched, and enjoyed by the soul. I hope you will find your own story there, in the beauty that is torn apart in the silence.
